Fresh off the successful release of my DOTS, I wanted to keep the set screw design going. I eventually thought of making a bug-shaped looking bead, and out came the Fireflies. These feature a rounded stainless steel top, and a resin bottom that resembles the butt of a Firefly :)
The epoxy resin portion of the bead is from a 'skurfetti' rod. These rods are made from color changing HyperGlow pieces in three colors cast in crystal clear epoxy resin. Made using a specialized vacuum infusion process which produces a high quality material that is void and bubble free.
When not exposed to UV light, the pieces have a opaque coloration. Expose it to sunlight or a strong UV light source, and watch them glow like crazy!
Fireflies design features no knot hole, because you don’t need to make a knot or flat burn to secure your cord for this set. They are compatible with both 425 (3mm) and 550 (4mm) paracord. At the 'head' of the bead is a screw hole, that’s used to secure a cord, for an easy setup, using the included set screws and hex wrench accessory. Fireflies are NOT magnetic like the vast majority of my sets, so keep that in mind.
If you enjoy my DOTS, I believe you will enjoy these too with them being somewhat similar in size. Fireflies are packaged in a hard TGP storage case, with a pouch, and 425 paraccord in the colors you choose.
